Justify an absence

Absence Policy

• Parents must contact the school as early as possible in the morning to inform the secretary of their child's absence or late arrival.

• Please call the following number to justify an absence : 418-548-3181

• Students will not be permitted to leave school premises during regular school hours, without first having the parent's consent, Parents must send a note or call the secretary.

Absences that are not justified (i.e.: skipping class) will result in consequence. Students and parents must be prepared to accept the possible consequences.

In the case where a student is absent for a test, presentation, or other assignment due date, the following procedure applies: 

• Anticipated absence- parents will provide a note prior to the date of the absence and the student will make-up the test/presentation/assignment on the first day back to school.

• Unanticipated absence- parents will provide a note upon the return to school and the student will make-up the test/presentation/assignment on the first day back to school.

Late Arrivals

Students who arrive late must report to the secretary's office. If the late arrival is justified by the parent, the student will receive a note (Late Slip) permitting them to enter class.

Snow Days

In the case of a snow day, the closing of RRHS will be announced via our School Board website or Facebook page. You can access both of them by clicking the following links :

The missed day will be caught up on a floating pedagological day.
